This ceremony, in which the new Officers take their commissioning oaths, marks the end of a four-year journey of education, training, and self-discovery and the beginning of a journey of military service.

Following the formal oath ceremony in Cameron Hall, each ROTC component will conduct individual “pin on” ceremonies in designated areas on VMI Post in accordance with their service traditions.

Branch-specific pinning ceremonies will be in the following locations:

• Army ROTC – Hall of Valor, Marshall Hall 
• Naval ROTC – Cameron Hall
• Air Force & Space Force ROTC – Gillis Theater @ Marshall Hall    
• Coast Guard – Memorial Gardens (Trinity Arch)  

All persons attending should be seated 15 minutes before the start.
