The office of Energy Management is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of utilities and building systems across post.

This office and its staff monitor and track utility usage, and develop projects and strategies to reduce VMI鈥檚 environmental impact and operating costs. They are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Institute鈥檚 steam, HVAC, and building automation systems, and for ensuring that those operations are in compliance with all codes and regulations. The Energy Manager also serves as VMI鈥檚 representative to utility companies as well to Virginia鈥檚 Department of Environmental Quality.
