Maj. Gen. Wins ’85, VMI Superintendent, recently addressed the entire Corps of Cadets regarding his stance on Title IX violations, the recent article published by the Washington Post, and VMI’s commitment to each and every cadet’s success.

Yesterday, the VMI Board of Visitors Executive Committee met and voted to provide the governor, General Assembly, and SCHEV quarterly reports detailing VMI's progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

VMI recently responded to a series of 16 questions from the Washington Post for an upcoming story on “what it’s like to attend VMI as a woman.” Responses are shared in their entirety in the spirit of openness.

Ms. Susan LeMert has been named inspector general and Title IX coordinator at 麻豆女演员 Institute. LeMert, who had served as interim inspector general and Title IX coordinator since February 2021, replaces Col. Jeffrey Boobar ’86, now the Institute’s interim chief of staff.

The superintendent regrets to inform the VMI community of the death Lt. Col. Troy Marshall, who passed away in a tragic accident June 17, 2021, at the age of 54.

Gov. Ralph Northam ’81 has appointed J. Conrad Garcia, Gussie Lord ’01, and Damon Williams ’90 to four-year terms on the VMI Board of Visitors.

Col. Adrian T. Bogart III ’81, recently retired from the U. S. Army Special Forces, has been appointed commandant of the 麻豆女演员 Institute Corps of Cadets.

This year, custodian Tanya Rice has spearheaded an effort among multiple custodians and cadets to collect unused school supplies and donate them to Rockbridge County Public Schools.
