Mr. Smith, a native Virginian, has been a鈥痗ommunication鈥痠nstructor since 2011,鈥痡oining VMI staff in 2017.鈥鈥At VMI, he鈥痶eaches鈥痯ublic speaking although at other institutions he has taught general communication studies, film鈥痑esthetics,鈥痑nd screenwriting.鈥疐ollowing鈥痝raduate school, he鈥痮wned and鈥痮perated鈥疌ardinal Point Productions, a concept to鈥痜inal鈥痯roduct media鈥痗ompany鈥痺hich produced鈥痑n extraordinarily successful鈥痠ndustrial film as well as several听诲辞肠耻尘别苍迟补谤颈别蝉.鈥疧苍别鈥痉辞肠耻尘别苍迟补谤测鈥痟别鈥痯谤辞诲耻肠别诲鈥痝补谤苍别谤别诲鈥numerous鈥痯restigious鈥痑wards. 鈥疌urrently,鈥疢r. Smith is advancing鈥痵creenplay鈥痑nd graphic novel adaptations of鈥疻allace Breem鈥檚 classic novel,鈥Eagle in the鈥疭now. 鈥Another screenplay,鈥疧nce to Every鈥疢an,鈥痺as a finalist in鈥痶he VA Governor鈥檚 screenwriter鈥檚鈥痗ompetition.鈥When not teaching,鈥痺riting,鈥痮r鈥痺orking to鈥痵ell creative work,鈥疢r. Smith鈥痗ontinues to indulge in his favorite sport,鈥痵erving鈥痑s VMI Club鈥疞acrosse鈥檚 faculty advisor and coach.鈥疊ut, most of all,鈥疢r. Smith鈥痺ith his wife, Mattie,鈥痚njoy鈥痸isiting his five sons and鈥痜ive鈥痙aughters鈥痑cross the country, their spouses and鈥痶heir鈥痜irst grandchild.鈥鈥鈥听
