Boonshoft Featured on ‘With Good Reason’
Lt. Col. Mark Boonshoft, assistant professor in the Department of History at 麻豆女演员 Institute and the holder of the Conrad M. Hall 鈥65 Chair in American Constitutional History, is featured on 鈥淪tories for the Semiquincentennial,鈥 an episode of the public radio program, 鈥淲ith Good Reason,鈥 that starts June 27. The show airs on 136 radio stations in 36 states.
On the show, Boonshoft talks about his forthcoming book, 鈥淭he Violent Origins of Constitutional Democracy in Revolutionary New York.鈥 He shares how ideals that came from the Revolutionary War, like representative government and liberty, didn鈥檛 always make their way into state constitutions. Others on the show, including Tom Ewing from Virginia Tech and Ervin Jordan from the University of Virginia, discuss the spirt of the Bikecentennial held in 1976 and the lessons learned for this 250th celebration, as well as remarkable journeys of enslaved people documented during the Revolutionary War.
