Ayn Rand’s ‘Night of January 16th’ Performed by VMI Community Theatre

The VMI Community Theatre presents, 鈥淣ight of January 16th,鈥 Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Gillis Theater on post, and Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in the Anderson Center at Kendal at Lexington.

The play, written by Russian American author Ayn Rand, is a courtroom drama centered on the trial of a secretary accused of murdering her employer, who defrauded his company of millions of dollars to invest in the gold trade. It contains adult themes not appropriate for children. 

Included in the cast from the Corps of Cadets are Luke Cockerham 鈥26 as District Attorney Flint, Ian Coker 鈥27 as John Hutchins, Carla Feaster 鈥27 as Nancy Lee Faulkner, Alexander Moore 鈥27 as Siegurd Jungquist, Colin Nicassio 鈥26 as Defense Lawyer Stevens, John Sullivan 鈥25 as 鈥淕uts鈥 Regan, Nicole Samella 鈥26 as Jane Chandler, and Tori Wright 鈥24 as Karen Andre. Rounding out the cast are community members, Clay Burch as Judge Heath, Linda Gorman as Magda Svenson, Drew Hartless as Elmer Sweeney, David Lusk as John Graham Whitfield, Tom Oxendine as Homer Van Fleet, and Melou Piegari as Dr. Kirkland.

The play is led by guest director, Tim Price. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens ages 65 and over, payable by cash or check at the door. Cadets and children ages six and under are free. Reservations are not required. Gillis Theater is located in Marshall Hall on VMI post. Kendal at Lexington is located at 160 Kendal Drive.
