194 Keydets named to SoCon Academic Honor Roll

Following an excellent academic year on post, a total of 194 VMI cadet-athletes were named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2025-26 season.

In order to be named to the list, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 minimum GPA for the year while being a member of the final squad list during their sport’s traditional season. Recipients must have been eligible to compete throughout the entire academic year.

The Academic Honor Roll alsoÌýincludesÌýstudent-athletes who compete inÌýnon-sponsoredÌýsports at Southern Conference institutions (i.e. swimming, lacrosse, water polo, etc.). Freshmen are also eligible for the award.

In addition, seven Keydets maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA for the year and 32 achieved above a 3.8 GPA to be recognized on the Commissioner’s Academic Medal within the Honor Roll.

The VMI track and field team led the way for the Institute with a combined 34 recipients between the men’s and women’s teams. Lacrosse was close behind with 32 honorees while men’s and women’s swimming and diving combined for 27 nominees. The wrestling team had the fourth most recipients with 18 receiving the honor while women’s soccer totaled 17.

Throughout the Southern Conference, a grand total of 2,698 student-athletes accomplished the feat, the second-highest number in conference history.
