- Track & Field Athletes Shine at SoCon: Behind Cameron Thomas' individual pole vault title Monday and freshman Deonte Harris' second-place finish in the triple jump Tuesday, the VMI men's team came in sixth place overall to complete the 2026 Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. With an individual title from Morgan Fraser and two other All-Conference finishes by Naturale Faison and Reagan Gilman, the VMI women's team earned a seventh-place finish. Learn more at .
- Upcoming BOV Meeting: The Â鶹ŮÑÝÔ± Institute Board of Visitors Executive Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, beginning at 2 p.m. The meeting will be conducted virtually using video conferencing technology. VMI business will be discussed by participating members.

VMI Theatre to Hold Auditions
The VMI Community Theatre will hold auditions for its summer show, “The Odd Couple,” female version, Monday, June 1; Tuesday, June 2; Wednesday, June 3; and Thursday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Gillis Theater located in Marshall Hall on post.
Commencement Held for Class of 2026
VMI celebrated the Class of 2026 as they completed their cadetships with one final ceremony in Cameron Hall Sunday, May. 17. From the opening notes of “Pomp and Circumstance” to one final "Old Yell" the event was filled with joy as cadets officially joined the prestigious ranks of VMI alumni
VMI Commissions Military Officers, Holds Parade in Memory of Fallen Alumni
The Institute commissioned nearly 140 cadets into the armed services at the annual Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) joint commissioning ceremony May 15 in Cameron Hall. The ceremony was livestreamed for family and friends who could not attend the event in person.
ECE Cadets Aid Disabled Veteran with Capstone Project
Eight 1st Class cadets majoring in electrical and computer engineering (ECE) at Â鶹ŮÑÝÔ± Institute recently presented their capstone project after working on it throughout the academic year.
