VMI Boxing Club Competes at Georgia Tech

LEXINGTON, Va, Dec. 12, 2022鈥擳he 麻豆女演员 Institute boxing club traveled to Atlanta, Georgia recently to compete in the second annual College Fight Night at Georgia Tech.

The VMI team participated in three boxing matches. Aidan Simmons 鈥23, assistant cadet in charge (ACIC), and 189-pound novice from Lexington, Virginia, did not have an opportunity to compete, due to his opponent withdrawing.

Valor Boyd 鈥24, also an ACIC, and 141-pound novice from Prosper, Texas, won his encounter skillfully with a first round technical knockout (TKO).

Syrus Vincent 鈥25, a 165-pound beginner from Rockledge, Florida, was deprived of a victory in a close hard-fought bout, and Ben Wigert 鈥24, a 155-pound novice from Cedar Park, Texas, had success snatched from him during his encounter. Walter Elias-Perez 鈥23, cadet in charge from Stafford, Virginia, and Jackson Miller 鈥24, ACIC, helped with coaching and equipment management.

All members of the boxing team competed nobly, and maintained the highest standards of conduct and sportsmanship for which VMI is known.
